Assistant Underwriter, North American Tax

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter to join our growing Tax Underwriting team, providing coverage across North America. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work alongside experienced professionals, supporting the underwriting of complex tax risks and gaining exposure to high-value transactions.

About the Role

Day to day responsibilities will include (amongst other things):

  • Assisting senior underwriters in the evaluation and assessment of transaction liability risks, including tax liability policies.
  • Conducting due diligence on submissions, gathering and analysing relevant documents and information.
  • Building relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders across Europe.
  • Keeping up to date with market trends and developments in M&A and insurance sectors.
  • Mentoring and training more junior members of the team.

About You

This is an experienced hire, so we'd be looking to hear more about your experience in M&A insurance, law, finance, or a related discipline, and your professional working experience in Tax. It's very likely you're Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field. In terms of skills and attitude, the ideal candidate would have:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment.
