Site Overview At our Research & Development team in our state‑of‑the‑art Innovation Center in Aston, PA, you'll have access to advanced analytical and processing tools that support cutting‑edge work in polyurethane chemistry and foam technology. As part of this team, you will lead high‑impact projects, contribute directly to technical and medical‑grade foam products used in real‑world applications, and serve as a technical expert and mentor within the organization. Job Overview As a Director of Product Development, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our R&D function by driving the introduction of innovative products to the market. In this hands‑on role, you will be deeply involved in every stage of the product development process, from concept to production. Your responsibilities will include shaping the product vision, leading the overall development process, and taking ownership of product builds. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including sales, product managers, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance, to ensure that new products not only meet customer expectations but are also delivered on time. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership: Lead the development of products and the overall product roadmap for one or more specific product categories. Ensure that product development projects meet cost, timelines, manufacturability, and quality targets. Design and Specifications: Create and maintain detailed drawings, design specifications, and bills of materials to guide product development. Innovation Integration: Collaborate closely with the R&D group and suppliers to integrate the latest innovations, technologies, and industry trends into the product development process. Support for Sales and Marketing: Assist sales and marketing teams by providing customer samples and comprehensive product information. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. 7+ years of experience in new product development, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in the bedding industry. Customer‑centric approach with a strong problem‑solving mindset. Proven project management skills and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams. Strong time management skills, enabling the management of multiple projects simultaneously. Organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented. Desirable Traits and Skills A passion for design, creativity, and a commitment to staying current on industry trends. Strong prioritization and time management skills. An analytical and data‑driven approach to decision‑making. Experience in managing projects that involve both internal and external resources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate and interact effectively with all organizational functions and levels. Proficiency in PC applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
